Stand 1st Foundation Equips Bartlesville School System Resource Officers with ARC Rifle-Rated Compact Response Shields

Bartlesville, Oklahoma - April 2024- In a significant stride toward enhancing school safety and preparedness, Armor Research Company, Inc. (ARC) proudly announces the provision of ten rifle-rated Compact Response Shields to the Bartlesville Police Department (BPD). Donated by the Stand 1st Foundation as part of Project Safe Schools, these shields are now in the hands of school resource officers (SROs) in the Bartlesville School System, marking a pivotal step in safeguarding students and faculty against potential threats.

The Stand 1st Foundation worked alongside local realtor Kevin Lynch and several community donors to raise funds for these shields. "The generosity of the community of Bartlesville is evident in the care they have for law enforcement and the efforts they have made to ensure that School Resource Officers have the tools needed to protect the students and teachers of Bartlesville schools," said Executive Director Ryan Sheehan.

"The Lyon Foundation, Musselman Abstract, the Patriot Auto Group, and several other donors were instrumental in the success of this program, and we appreciate them very much," he added.

"There is a significant need across the country to equip officers with ballistic shields," said Sheehan, "and with the generous support of individuals, corporations, and other foundations, we can help ensure that officers go home to their families at night."

The Compact Response Shield, a cutting-edge innovation from ARC, stands as a critical piece of equipment tailored for responding to active shooter scenarios. Its lightweight yet durable design ensures immediate protection and offensive capability for law enforcement personnel, enabling quicker threat engagement and elimination in high-stress situations. With safety as the utmost priority, these shields empower SROs with the tools needed to swiftly neutralize threats and safeguard lives.

Research has shown that the presence of such shields provides not only physical protection but also a psychological advantage, instilling confidence and reducing hesitation in engagement. By bolstering the capabilities of law enforcement personnel, these shields contribute to a proactive approach to mitigating the impact of active shooter incidents and fostering a sense of security within the school community.

"We are honored to support the Bartlesville Police Department and Bartlesville School System in their efforts to enhance safety measures," said Kennith Hall, CEO at Armor Research Company, Inc. "The deployment of our Compact Response Shields underscores our commitment to providing innovative solutions that prioritize the protection of officers, students, and faculty. We are proud to stand alongside the brave men and women who dedicate themselves to keeping our schools safe."

The collaboration between ARC, the Stand 1st Foundation, and the Bartlesville Police Department exemplifies a proactive approach to school safety, emphasizing the importance of preparedness and swift response in the face of potential threats. As communities across the nation continue to prioritize security measures, initiatives such as Project Safe Schools serve as a beacon of hope, fostering resilience and unity in safeguarding our educational institutions.
